DHS Department of Choral Arts
The Duluth choirs have a long tradition of excellence in the state of Georgia and abroad. They have performed throughout metropolitan Atlanta, New York City, New York; Nashville, Tennessee; Disney World, Orlando, Florida; and The Grand Bahama Islands as well as six international concert tours throughout Europe. Each year the choirs participate in the Georgia Music Educator’s Association State Large Group Performance Evaluation where they consistently receive the top ratings of “Superior”. Duluth is also very well represented in the GMEA All-State Choirs, Honors Choruses and GHSA Music Literary events yearly.

Restroom

It is the policy of the Duluth Choral Program that no one is allowed to go to the restroom during class so as not to disrupt the learning process. However, occasional emergencies arise. One restroom pass will be given to each student for emergencies only. To claim your pass, you sign off in the merit book on your assigned sheet. If you must go and do not have a pass, then it will cost you a tardy machine late pass. It is suggested that students who have used their restroom pass already just go ahead and take a tardy to class, go to the tardy machine and come to class late rather than going during the middle of class. Be sure to use your pass ONLY incase of emergency. It is acceptable to borrow a pass from another chorus student by getting them to sign out on their sheet for you. However, this means that student no longer has an emergency pass to use. Remember, you have five opportunities to go to the restroom between classes and a sixth opportunity at lunch. The chorus emergency pass is only for EMERGENCIES.
